Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in theInformation Technology, Healthcare and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Bank Ltd (CM:ABLT) added 22.45% or 1.10 points to end at 6.00 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was up 18.14% or 4.30 points to 28.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 16.67% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 13.33% or 200.00 points to end at 1300.00 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 156 to 63 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Amana Bank Ltd (CM:ABLT) rose to all time highs; gaining 22.45% or 1.10 to 6.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.34% or 0.12 to $36.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.62% or 0.23 to hit $36.69 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.16% or 1.70 to trade at $1061.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.06% to 213.505, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 144.050.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.15% at 98.45.
